Export your MetaTrader 5 trade history
Toolbox › History › Report › HTML
New in Hammer. We built this import from MetaTrader 5's documented export format and haven't seen a real file yet. Check a few trades against MetaTrader 5 after importing — and if something's off, the Feedback button reaches us directly.
Steps
- In MetaTrader 5 on your computer, open the Toolbox (Ctrl+T) and the History tab.
- Right-click, choose Positions, and pick the period.
- Right-click again and choose Report › HTML.
- Save the file and import it as it is.
What's in the file
An HTML report whose Positions table has one row per trade: open and close time, position ID, symbol, buy or sell, volume, prices, commission, swap and profit.
What Hammer does with it
- Reads the Positions table and nothing after it (orders and deals would double-count).
- The P&L is profit plus commission and swap.
Good to know
- Choose the HTML report, not Open XML. Times are the broker's server time — check a trade's date after importing.
Import it
- On the web: Settings › Your data › Import…, then drop the file in.
- On iPhone, iPad or Mac: Settings › Import › Import…, then choose the file.
- Just curious? Try it with your trades — Hammer reads the file right in your browser and shows what's costing you, before you sign up.
